Interview with Clifton Irick concerning his experiences as owner and operator of Clifton Irick Real Estate in Pilot Point, Texas. Irick discusses his family background, Pilot Point in the 1930s, his work in a dry goods store and as an insurance salesman, his purchase of White Auto Store franchise, and his purchase of Pilot Point National Bank in 1963. He also talks about race relations in Pilot Point, his experiences in the retailing business, the history of Pilot Point banking, bank directors, the expansion of the bank, his views on government regulations of banking, bank personnel, the sale of the bank and entry into full-time real estate work in 1975, as well as the advantages of Pilot Point's location and the development of homeowner property and horse farm property. Irick shares his views on land prices in the Pilot Point area, cotton ginning in Pilot Point, financing loans, advertsing sources, civic activities, and provides vignettes of Pilot Point history.
